Even though audio is supported by the adapter and by Mini HDMI
In the past year or so we’ve seen many laptops and video cards that are coming equipped with mini DisplayPort connections but those laptops and video cards don’t come with adapters so you can actually make use of those ports. Today I’ve got a short review for you of a product that many of you might find very useful, it’s a 3-in-1 adapter that goes from mini DisplayPort output to DVI, Mini HDMI or stand DisplayPort video inputs. The product is just a small white box really, not much special or exciting about it but it is inexpensive and it does the job it needs to do.The only let down is the lack of audio support. Even though audio is supported by the adapter and by Mini HDMI DisplayPort specifications, it currently does not work. Hopefully in the future Apple will add audio support through a software update, but as of now there no way to know if that’s even an option. The adapter works well and I didn’t notice any artifacts or other video issues while playing HD content to the TV. The adapter fully supported resolution, as stated in the features, when plugged into to my 46 Sharp Aquos. I was nervous that using Mini HDMI would cause overscan and not fit correctly in dot by dot mode; however, just as with the direct DVI connection port on the TV, the HDMI worked perfectly.
